Ever since I was 6 years old i had a friend named Alix. When I came back to Hong Kong I had lots of fun with her.
One day we were hanging out when she had to go to her Acting class, they told me i could come and watch instead of leave, when we went to the “repulse bay” building, we entered her after school activity classroom, there was a teacher, called Imgon, she was very thrilled to hear about our sailing and said she wishes she could do the same.
When we got done with our little chat, she asked me if I’d like to join Alix with the act she was doing. I accepted the offer and was very enthusiastic to try acting.
I have never acted before other then when my boat friend Allegra and i hosted a show about two mice setting sail away from their home on our boat. So i was very elevated to try real acting.
The act was about a teenager girl, Violet, who was engrossed to her phone and complained on how stone aged her Mom was.
Imgon said that the act was perfect for Alix, and we tried it out, Imgon was right the act was ideal for Alix. We used fake props for her phone and chairs to act as her bed.
I had a blast! When i came back home I went on and one about the class, and Mama said that she could arrange another class with Alix next week, I was overjoyed by this news, I really enjoy hanging out with Alix and now i get to do DOUBLE the time and practice my acting skills. I could use them, whenever i lie to anyone my face bursts with laughter!
The next week on Tuesday, I was so stoked to act with Alix, when we arrived we had a small conversation about the whole idea of how the room is going to look, what she’ll be doing, and how she acted and looked like, Alix described exactly what her mind went to when she saw the script and the name. Violet had medium length blond hair a purple crop top and jeans, she was snobby, girlish and arrogant.
We grabbed our fake props and sat next to each other and acted out the script. Imgon said that our acting was on point, and that we should do a quick improvise.
Alix’s objection in the improvise was to sit down onto the bench with someone. My objection was to stay on the bench by myself.
Alix: can you please scoot over so my elderly mom and i can sit down together?
Me: I’m so sorry but even if i do scoot my dice needs to sit next to me, *pulls out a big stuffed dice*
Alix: Well my mom is more important then your dice!
Me: You can just walk over to that other bench and sit there!*points to the empty bench a few meters away*
Alix: My mom can’t walk that far!
Me: how did she get here then!
Alix: How about YOU and your DICE go sit over there then!
Me: NO! I got here FIRST!
Alix: COME ON! Can’t you understand that MY SUPER OLD MOM need to sit down ASAP!
Me: well in the time that we’ve been arguing, YOU and your MOM, could have already gotten to that OTHER BENCH!
Alix: SO?
Me: SO GO!
Alix: NO!
Me: I GOT HERE FIRST!!!!
Alix: I DONT CARE!!!!
Imgon clapped at our performance, then we did the exact same thing but switched roles, I was an elderly man with his wife trying to sit down with her, Alix tried to say she didn’t speak English but every language she tried to speak i answered in.
I thought that this exercise was really fun!
I think that i will never forget the fun i had during those acting classes!
