A world famous shark dive, the friendly Aqua-Trek team pioneered shark diving in Fiji over 25 years ago. Aptly named the Bistro, we were thrilled to witness the shark feast.

Grant, Arabella and I did the dive together with friends from our buddy boats Freydis and Aventure. Daddy was a bit nervous about Arabella diving with the big sharks but she insisted that she wanted to join. To be honest, all the adults were rather apprehensive about the dive.

We first descended down a rope to a wreck, and then onto the arena at 18m depth. The feeding started and the wild spectacle began. WOW, it was insane! To use the word 'frenzy' is an understatement. There were thousands of big and small fish zooming around, and dozens of massive bull sharks came within arm's length.

There are eight different species of shark in this area: bull shark, whitetip reef shark, blacktip reef shark, nurse shark, lemon shark, grey reef shark, silvertip shark, and even the elusive tiger shark. During our dive, we saw three species - bull shark, nurse shark and silver tip shark. There were also hundreds of jacks, snappers, a huge Queensland grouper and other species swirling around.

This adrenaline-charged experience with the sharks under the sea was pretty surreal and memorable. Highly recommended.
