We met Giovanni at the Scilla harbour. He was wonderfully kind, generous and helpful. He arranged Grant to go swordfish fishing with his fisherman friend in Sicily. We met his son Gianmarco, a gregarious eleven year old boy who works at the port shuttling guests on the dinghy. On our last night at Scilla, we invited Giovanni and his family to our boat for dinner. Giovanni kindly cooked us a few Sicilian specialty dishes - sunfish salad and swordfish roe pasta. Buonissimo!!! The girls really enjoyed playing with his two sons Gianmarco and Gabriel despite some language barrier. It was a wonderful evening.
