Mama's friend, Josephine, who lived in Singapore, came down to the marina to visit Mama. She has a 13-year-old son, Aidan, who joined us. We decided to go go-karting, so we hopped on the train. During the train ride, I felt a lot of mixed emotions. I was terrified because the last time I went, I crashed and got hurt, and I was pulled off the track. However, I was also hopeful because I knew Arabella would be talking a big game, and maybe, just maybe, I had a slight chance of winning. My excitement was hardly containable.
The last time I went go-karting, I lost control and crashed into Naomi, who had just crashed as well. There was an employee helping her, and I almost crashed into him, but luckily he moved away before I hit him. The seatbelt burnt my arm quite badly.
When we arrived at the track, I found out that it was an indoor track, apparently the first ever indoor track in Asia. We had booked a session at 3:00pm and decided to sit down and wait. I had brought my book so I wouldn't get bored.
After an hour, they called Aidan, Arabella, and me to go through the safety procedure. They told us that bumping into others and damaging cars could result in a $7,000 fine! After watching an animated video about the dangers of go-karting, we went into the waiting room. For some reason, they kept us there for forty-five minutes! We had booked it for 3:00, and it was already 4:00 when we finally got onto the tracks. I was so frustrated because the people behind us went first, and I didn't understand why they did that.
The track was definitely more fancy than the one in Panama, although the one in Singapore had a lot more rules.
Finally, we went onto the track. I got into kart number 13; Arabella had wanted to use that one. The race eventually started. I started slow and steady because I did not want things to end up like last time. I accelerated faster and faster, and soon I was at the highest speed. BUT THEN, the first turn was right in front of me. I was alarmed by the sudden turn but managed to hit the brakes and very slowly turned.
Soon enough, I was on a roll. I managed to complete a lap in 47.8 seconds, not the best time, but as I did more laps, I brought it down to 42.4 seconds!
Then came the second to last lap. I was in a great position, at the last turn, and my time was 34.8 seconds. If I passed this turn, I could get at least 40 seconds! I slowed down, and out of nowhere, Arabella thought I was TOO SLOW and bumped me out of the way, causing me to crash! That was the ONLY time I crashed, and it was ARABELLA'S FAULT. I finished in 54.9 seconds! Anger was the only thing I could think of. >:( I crashed into the curb and had to wave my hand to get the attention of the workers. Eventually, I made it out the other side.
Time passed, and soon enough, we needed to stop. The second I came out, I shouted at Arabella for crashing into me. She said, and I quote, "I crashed into multiple people! Don't think it's ONLY you!"
Now there is PROOF that Arabella COULD have made us PAY A FINE, but she got lucky and was off the hook. I was overwhelmed with anger and frustration! Arabella OBVIOUSLY came first! She even beat the ADULTS! And she came 8th in the "Best of the Day" ranking! Like... ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
But the next day, I got over it. I think I overreacted and lost my temper. But everything is fine now. Bye bye!
